After seeing Valley hospital grades, you might want to get a second opinion

The latest grades are in for Valley hospitals and that’s bad news for most hospital administrators.

Three of seven Valley hospitals had below-average safety grades in the latest Hospital Safety Score release, provided by the Leapfrog Group.

KMJ reported that Adventist Health Selma, Adventist Health Hanford, and Tulare Regional each scored a “D” rating.

For folks in Madera, the news is even worse: Madera Community Hospital registered the lone “F” in the central San Joaquin.

Inside the city of Fresno, St. Agnes and Community Regional Medical Center (downtown Fresno) both received “C” grades.

So who were the best in the Valley? Kaiser Permanente in Fresno, Kaweah Delta in Tulare County and Clovis Community Medical Center all earned “A” grades from the latest HSS release.
